Moon Lake Park measures 6.6 acres and is an ideal location for swimming and fishing.  There are also picnic areas here for family outings.  Lastly, there’s the W.H. Jack Mitchell Jr. Park.  This park puts an emphasis on sports.  Guests can enjoy softball, basketball, football and soccer.

This is a city built on history, though it has recently evolved into a mini-urban mecca.  Still, the city has firm roots in nature appreciation.  When it was first discovered, it was envied for its farmland and seen as an ideal community for retirees.  Since then, the city has become diverse in its demographics and attractions.  However, the great outdoors of New Port Richey is still fresh, clean and welcoming.

The Bourbon Street Nightclub on 4331 US Hwy 19 welcomes live music and hosts some exciting events like the “battle of the bands.”  This bar has a distinctive concert-like setting with large warehouse style ceilings and a huge stage.  The Fluid Lounge and Nightclub heats things up with its bikini contests and salsa dancing, though it’s hard to compete with adult clubs in the city like Bare Assets, Foxy and the Emperor’s Gentleman’s Club.

4. Founders Day Celebration

This event, which celebrates the settlement days of Newport Richey and its roaring 20’s history, is one of the town’s biggest.  The city’s rich past is celebrated each year one block north of Main Street. Events in the past have included a carnival and midway, a miniature train exhibit, boat tours, pumpkin painting and much more.
